ChatGPT Ads Patterns: Finance & Insurance
Finance & Insurance
3.8% share of impressions, 222 advertisers
ChatGPT officially launched ads in March 2026. Within its first 200 days, the ads business reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate. As of September 2026, 43% of ad-eligible US users had seen at least one ad. Click-through rate is up 112% worldwide since launch.
Our State of ChatGPT Ads report, built with Similarweb, analyzed 98,000+ ads and 8,000+ landing pages. We found that top advertisers write net-new copy for ChatGPT instead of reusing their search ads, and that most brands are still in experimentation mode.
Finance and insurance account for 3.8% of US ChatGPT ad impressions, across 222 advertisers. This article zooms in on finance and insurance to see what those patterns look like in one category.
We looked at ads from 6 finance advertisers: Rocket Mortgage, Robinhood, Capital One, Rocket Money, Mastercard, and SoFi. For each one, we reviewed 6 ads, chose one to click on, and the landing page it led to, then checked the live page. Every ad is a ChatGPT "Sponsored text" placement.
Ad Patterns
The 6 companies follow the same ad format for their ‘Sponsored text’ ads:
- Logo and advertiser name
- A short bold headline
- 1-2 lines of copy.
In addition to similarity in the simple ad formats, we identified patterns across copy angles and themes and landing pages. Only one company, Rocket Mortgage, uses a quiz flow, and we detail that out in the last section.
Copy Angles & Themes

- Robinhood: "3.6% APY w/ Gold."

Landing Page Patterns
The patterns below are based on the live pages for all 6 advertisers. Rocket Mortgage's page is a multi-step quiz, and it includes its own pattern section at the end.
Dedicated funnels vs. website pages:
- Both Rocket brands send traffic to stripped-down funnel subdomains (launchpad.rocketmortgage.com and onboarding.rocketmoney.com) with almost no navigation.
- Robinhood, Mastercard, Capital One, and SoFi send traffic to standard site pages with full menus.
Message match

| Rocket Money | Cancel unwanted subscriptions. Save hundreds canceling your unused subscriptions. | "Take control of your subscriptions with Rocket Money." Concierge cancels for you. | Strong |
| Mastercard | Send Business Payments Globally… | Mastercard Move: "Modernize global money movement." Contact sales. | Topic match, audience shifts from SME to banks and enterprise |
| SoFi | Push-to-Card Payouts | "The modern worker expects more." Gig worker payouts. Let's talk. | Topic match, "push-to-card" never appears on the landing page |
| Robinhood | Investing Starts Here | "Built for the Future of Trading." Legend charts, futures, ladder trading, margin. | Weak, beginner hook sent to an advanced trader page |

Consumer self-serve vs. sales-led
| Company | Type | First Action |
